On December 3, the Augustinianum Patristic Institute in Rome took place Jubilee of CNEC bursars and collaborators, on the occasion of the 116th CNEC National Conference (64th year of association life), in the context of the Jubilee 2025. The chosen title, “Administrate with hope in a multicultural Church”, placed at the center a question that is both concrete and related to values: how to safeguard and administer assets with competence, transparency and vision, within a Church that today has "many faces" and a growing cultural and organizational complexity?
We were there too, to listen and gather ideas on needs, challenges and evolutionary trajectories that cross the administrative management of institutions and communities.
The contents: a Church with many faces, between challenges and opportunities
The central morning session was entrusted to Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, S.D.B., Pro-prefect of the DIVCSVA, with the speech "A Church with many faces: challenges and opportunities for the administration of goods in a multicultural reality". The reflection recalled the theme of administrative responsibility not as an area separate from the mission, but as an integral part of the life of the Church: a place where daily decisions, rules and choices impact credibility, sustainability and the ability to serve people. The report was followed by a moment of dialogue, with space for questions and discussion, designed to bring the topic back to real cases and issues experienced by bursars and collaborators in the communities.
The associative dimension: budget, tools and responsibilities
A significant part of the day was also dedicated to the internal life of the association, with the Assembly of CNEC members. The report of the President, Sister Marilena Argentieri (SJA), and the budget were presented, with the interventions of the Dr. Valbona Marku (CNEC accountant) and of Dr. Fabio Dario (auditor). In this framework, the topic of insurance agreements was also addressed, with the intervention of Dr. Roberto Zizzadoro (Allianz).
The jubilee moment: walking together
In the afternoon, the conference moved to a more spiritual and community dimension. The reflection “Walking together in the light of the Jubilee”, edited by Father Luigi Gaetani (CS), President of CISM, acted as a bridge to the jubilee moments: prayer, pilgrimage and final celebration. In continuity with the theme of the conference, the common thread remained that of the "common path": not only as an image, but as a criterion of work and co-responsibility.
Administration as a form of care
The message that clearly emerged was that “administering” does not just mean managing procedures and numbers: it means taking care of resources that have a purpose, protecting the sustainability of the works, ensuring transparency and continuity, and doing so in a context in which cultural plurality and complexity require skills, method and the ability to read changes.
